Russia Security Council Leader Condemns Drone Attack On Kremlin

After the drone attack on the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, by Ukraine, Moscow is left with no option other than the physical elimination of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "and his clique," deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev said on his Telegram channel, according to TASS News Agency.

On his Telegram channel, Medvedev said, "After today's terrorist attack, there are no options left other than the physical elimination of Zelensky and his clique."

According to Medvedev, Zelenskyy "is not even needed for signing an instrument of unconditional surrender."

"Hitler, as is known, did not sign it either. There will always be some substitute," Medvedev wrote, reported TASS News Agency.

Earlier, Russia alleged that there were attempts by Ukraine to assassinate President Putin, saying it was a "terrorist attack" while claiming it shot down drones over the residence of Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not get injured in the overnight drone attacks on Kremlin and Russia considers the drone attacks, an attempt on President's life, President's press service announced on Wednesday, Russia Today reported.

According to Putin's staff, Ukraine launched two drone attacks overnight with the intention of hitting his apartment in the Kremlin.

"The head of State was not in Kremlin at the time of "Ukrainian UAV attack" on Tuesday night, "Kremlin's Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

He also said that President Putin is currently working from his residence near Moscow and that his schedule remains unchanged.

The drones were destroyed using electronic warfare measures and caused no casualties or damage, the press service added.

According to a report in Russia Today, the message said, "As a result of this terrorist act, the President of the Russian Federation was not injured. His work schedule has not changed, it continues as usual."

The Kremlin also noted that the Russian side reserves the right to take retaliatory measures as it sees fit, reported Russia Today.

Peskov added that the incident won't interfere with the Victory Day parade that is scheduled to take place on May 9 on Red Square.

The Kremlin previously reported that the two UAVs had targeted the Kremlin, but both were shot down before they could pose any damage, according to Russia Today.

Prior to being shot down, both of the UAVs that had targeted the Kremlin, according to the Kremlin, were shot down.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied that his country was responsible for what Russia says was an assassination attempt against Russian President Vladimir Putin, after an apparent drone attack on the Kremlin.

"We don't attack Putin or Moscow," Zelenskyy said during a news conference in Helsinki.

The Ukrainian president said that Ukraine didn't have enough weapons to spare in incidents like this, reported CNN.

"We fight on our territory, we are defending our villages and cities. We don't have enough weapon[s] for this. That's why we don't use it anywhere [else]," Zelensky explained. "For us that is the deficit, we can't spend [waste] it."

"Respected Sharad Pawar, You're Needed As NCP Chief": Union Minister

A day after NCP chief Sharad Pawar announced that he would step down as party head, Union minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane Wednesday said the 82-year-old leader's presence was needed in politics as well as his party's president.

Sharad Pawar on Tuesday dropped a bombshell by saying he is stepping down as chief of the NCP which he founded and helmed since 1999, but not retiring from public life. His nephew Ajit Pawar later announced his uncle will need two to three days to "think over" his decision.

About Ajit Pawar appearing to be the only NCP leader favouring his uncle's decision, Narayan Rane said, "Ajit was making big speeches. He found Pawar's decision correct while the party workers hold a contrarian view." "Respected Sharad Pawar, you are needed in politics as well as president of NCP," said Narayan Rane, a former Shiv Sena leader.

He also took a dig at former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of being incapable of taking his party along.

"He (Uddhav Thackeray) is incapable as a leader and this is a fact. Still, Sharad Pawar made him chief minister. Pawar has admitted about his (Thackeray's) shortcomings as chief minister," Narayan Rane told reporters when asked about remarks made by Pawar in his autobiography 'Lok Majhe Sangati' (People Accompany Me).

Narayan Rane had quit the Shiv Sena in 2005 to join the Congress. He left the Congress in 2017 to form his own outfit 'Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha', which he merged with the BJP in October 2019.

King Charles III's Coronation: Schedule And How Can You Watch It Live

King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in a ceremony full of pomp, pageantry, and solemn religious significance on Saturday, May 6, after he became monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other realms on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, in September.

For the best part of a thousand years, the kings and queens of England and Britain have been crowned at London's Westminster Abbey in a ceremony that has changed little throughout the centuries.

There have been 38 monarchs crowned at the Abbey. Edward V, one of two young princes believed to have been murdered in the Tower of London in the 15th century, and Edward VIII, who abdicated to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson, were not crowned.

So, what time is the coronation ceremony, and how can you watch it from home?

All you need to know is this:

Timings

The coronation ceremony will begin at 1000 GMT, following a procession from Buckingham Palace. It is set to be shorter than that for his mother 70 years ago, at about two hours long compared to almost four hours.

A much larger procession will depart the Abbey, made up of armed forces from Britain and across the Commonwealth. The king and queen will travel in the gold state coach, which was commissioned in 1760.

Coronation Day schedule, May 6:

3 p.m. IST: King Charles and Queen Camilla will step out of Buckingham Palace for a procession (a little over 1 mile) to head to Westminster Abbey.

3.30 p.m. IST: Coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey (church) by the Archbishop in front of the royals and guests

4.30 p.m. IST: The King and Queen will travel back to the Palace through a slow procession, meeting crowds.

6.45 p.m.: The Royals and the King do their usual Royal family balcony wave at the palace and watch the flypast.

How to watch King Charles' coronation:

Several international TV channels, including the BBC, ABC News, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, will telecast this event on their different broadcasting platforms.

The Royal Family YouTube Channel is also supposed to live stream the ceremony.

Video: "Can Declare You Terrorist In Seconds," Bihar Cop Threatens Teacher

"Will declare you a terrorist in a second" - this boast by a Bihar policeman to a teacher was caught on video. The clip, a chilling display of abuse of power and high handedness, is being widely shared on the internet.

The teacher, along with his family members, was visiting the Jamui Police station, some 165 kilometres from capital Patna, to settle a dispute.

The incident, say reports, is some 2-3 days old.

The policeman, say reports, was miffed with the teacher arriving three days late and started calling him names.

The teacher did try to put his point across, but by then the policeman had lost his temper.

"It is our job to declare people terrorist. Will declare you a terrorist in a second," said policeman Rajesh Sharan.

The video shows the cop getting up from his seat and threatening the teacher. People could be seen around the policeman in the video, but no one intervened.

An inquiry into the matter has been ordered by the Jamui police station.

"Active Shooter" Situation In Atlanta Building, 1 Dead, 3 Injured

A gunman opened fire inside a medical building in the US city of Atlanta leaving one dead and three injured, the Atlanta Police Department said in a series of tweets. The suspect, who was seen with a gun in his hand in CCTV footage, has been identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson by the police.

Warning residents about an active shooter situation inside a building, the Atlanta Police Department said, "APD is investigating an active shooter in the area of 1110 W Peachtree St NW. Please shelter in place, or stay out of the area ... the suspect is still at large."

Police posted four photographs of the suspect on Twitter. The man is seen walking into an office doorway and raising his arm to point what appeared to be a handgun. The image does not show what he might have been targeting.

Police have said that no additional shots have been fired since the initial incident unfolded inside the medical building. "We are currently aware of 4 shooting victims related to this situation." Three people have been hospitalised, while a fourth has been declared dead as police actively search for the gunman and any other victims.

Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have also responded to assist with the shooting.

Northside Hospital said in a tweet that they are cooperating with the authorities.

"Northside Hospital is cooperating with law enforcement following the shooting at our midtown #Atlanta location earlier this afternoon. We urge people in the area to shelter in place and follow instructions from law enforcement on the scene. This tragedy is affecting all of us, and we ask for patience and prayers at this time," the hospital said.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said in a tweet that he was in contact with police and advised people to in the area to shelter in place. "I am in close contact with the Atlanta Police Department as they are responding to the active shooting situation in Midtown near 1100 W Peachtree. Those in the area should shelter in place," he said.

The police have asked people with any information to approach them. In the photographs, the suspect appears to be a well-built man wearing dark pants, a hood over his head and a white surgical mask, wielding a handgun.

"Based on our preliminary investigation, these are photos believed to be of the active shooter. Anyone with any information on this person's whereabouts is asked to call 911. The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached," Atlanta Police said.

About an hour after the gunfire, a SWAT team gathered near the High Art Museum, about 3/4 of a mile (1.21 km) from the shooting scene, according to a video posted on Twitter by a local CBS affiliate.

Atlanta Public Schools said several schools in the area would operate on external lockdown for the rest of the day "out of an abundance of caution", Reuters reported.

There have been more than 180 mass shootings -- defined as four or more people wounded or killed -- so far this year in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive. With more firearms than inhabitants, the United States has the highest rate of gun-related deaths of any developed country: 49,000 in 2021, up from 45,000 the year before.

Zerodha CEO Shares How A Friend Got "Scammed And Lost Rs 5 Lakh"

Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath on Wednesday took to Twitter to narrate how his friend lost Rs 5 lakh after falling for a part-time job offer he received on WhatsApp. Mr Kamath shared that the offer promised big bucks for doing an easy task.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, Mr Kamath shared, "Someone I know got scammed and lost money. It started with a response to a part-time job offer on WhatsApp. The first few tasks were about leaving fake reviews for resorts and restaurants in random places like Peru. About Rs 30,000 was transferred to the bank for the tasks completed."

See the tweet here:

In a follow-up tweet, Mr Kamath added, "A Telegram group was created with others who claimed to do these tasks. The next task for the group was to trade on a mock crypto platform, following a bunch of rules. Profits generated were allowed to be withdrawn, even without transferring any real money."

He revealed that this wasn't Bitcoin or Ethereum, but random crypto tokens whose prices fraudsters could easily manipulate. He shared that the group was then asked to transfer real money to generate higher returns. Others in the group claiming to transfer nudged my friend to do so as well.

"I guess the risk didn't seem much since the money transferred was the Rs 30,000 earned through the platform. But greed took over, and more money was transferred, probably due to peer pressure from others in the group who claimed to have made large transfers and profits," he revealed.

Mr Kamath's friend tried to withdraw but couldn't and was told that a certain number of traders was required. "The fear of being unable to withdraw the money took over, and more money was added to trade. This amounted to Rs 5 lakh, a large amount for any person," he wrote.

"The platform offered a loan when the person said there was no more money to add. The person finally decided to confide with the spouse about the situation, who almost immediately realized it was a fraud. They reached out to the police for help," Mr Kamath revealed.

"The account seemed like a real crypto account, with account balance, ledger, P&L, etc. But it was all fake; everything on it was manipulated, including the telegram group. The crypto price movements were also manipulated to generate profits and sow greed at the start," the Zerodha CEO said.

Mr Kamath concluded by saying that "there is no easy way to earn a lot of money quickly".

He also emphasizes that people should spread awareness. "Everyone is a target, and we need to create awareness. The important thing to remember is that there is no easy way to make a lot of money quickly," Mr Kamath said.

"Wake Up": YS Sharmila Sends Truckload Of Damaged Crops To KCR

YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila sent a truck loaded with damaged crops to Chief Minsiter KCR to draw his attention towards crop damage in several districts of Telangana.

The recent rains rendered farmers with unprecedented losses and inflicted a major blow to their hopes of a good harvest.

Exhibiting the truck to the media, the YSR Telangana Party chief said, "Today, YSR Telangana Party is sending this load of the damaged crop to KCR so that, at least during the election year, he will wake up from deep sleep and extend appropriate compensation to farmers. The crop loss due to unseasonal rains has been put at around 10 lakh acres, but not even a single official or MLA has visited the farmers and inspected the loss. While they are all busy clicking photographs in the newly built Secretariat that cost Rs 1,600 crores, it is a shame that the farmers had to raise loans at high interest and sell their spouses' jewellery for crops. This truck bears farmers' tears."

She further said that in the past nine years, the cumulative crop loss has been estimated to be more than Rs 14000 crores, but this reckless government has no concept of crop insurance.

"In the past nine years, the cumulative crop loss has been estimated to be more than Rs 14000 crores, but this reckless government has no concept of crop insurance. When there is no crop insurance, at least the government should extend compensation. KCR promises Rs 10000 per acre that is insignificant as the input costs rose unprecedentedly. His promise was to deliver the amount by the time he returned home. Has he not returned home yet," said YS Sharmila.

"We demand that KCR offer at least Rs 30,000 per acre as compensation. The paddy procurement should begin immediately. The assurance to set up 7500 IKP centres also failed and less than 2500 were set up. We demand that the centres be established on an emergency basis," she added.

On the occasion, Ms Sharmila hit out at KCR and his 'raithu bharosa and ab ki baar kisan sarkar catchwords'.

"Is this the bharosa and is this the kisan sarkar? A sarkar that doesn't give crop insurance, doesn't extend input subsidies, and fails on every front when it comes to the rescue of farmers?" she said.

Man Gives All His Financial Information To AI, Claims He Saved...

Joshua Browder, the CEO of robot lawyer startup DoNotPay has revealed that he handed over his entire financial life to OpenAI's GPT-4 in an attempt to save money. He claimed that he was able to save $217.85 (Rs 17,850) by automating tasks to AutoGPT that otherwise would've cost him precious time. In a Twitter thread, he shared his experience, claiming that the chatbot has helped him in many ways to recover lost or unclaimed money.

''I decided to outsource my entire personal financial life to GPT-4 (via the the@donotpay chat we are building). I gave AutoGPT access to my bank, financial statements, credit report, and email. Here's how it's going so far (+$217.85) and the strange ways it's saving money,'' he wrote in the thread.

After AutoGPT was given access to his bank account and financial statements, the bot scanned more than 10,000 transactions. It found that $80.86 was leaving his account every month in useless subscriptions and offered to cancel every single one.

The bot further used USPS Lob API to cancel the gym subscriptions after having an automated chat with agents.

The bot also helped him get easy refunds. The bot pointed out a United Airlines in-flight Wi-Fi receipt for $36.99 from London to New York in Browder's email and enquired if it functioned correctly or not. When he said ''no,'' it immediately drafted a persuasive and firm legal letter to United, requesting a refund.

He then moved on to his bills and as a customer of Comcast, he asked the bot to negotiate the bills. “Now it was time to unleash GPT-4 on my bills.  I am a customer of Comcast and so I asked it to negotiate my bill. When Comcast offered a $50 discount, the bot pushed back. It said: “NO. I want more.” And it got it (+$100). GPT 3.5 never pushed back fwiw,” he tweeted.

In under 24 hours, Mr Browder was able to get $217.86, and he has a dozen other disputes pending. His goal is to have AutoGPT make him $10,000.

Internet users were left surprised to see his tweets. One user wrote, ''This is insane. The world is about to become unrecognizable.'' Another commented, ''People don't realize how quickly their life will change as this becomes more seamless.''

However, a third expressed concern and wrote, ''I seriously doubt this works in a robust way. GPT hallucinations compound in unpredictable ways. Especially with math for instance. How truly real world ready is this thing? From my experience not at all.'' A fourth added, ''Yeah I'm not giving all my info to some data collection tool. I can do all these things in less time than it would take to connect all my accounts.''

Woman Testifies In US Court How Donald Trump Groped Her On Flight

A woman told a New York civil trial on Tuesday that Donald Trump sexually assaulted her on a flight in the United States in the late 1970s.

Jessica Leeds recounted the alleged attack while testifying in the writer E. Jean Carroll's rape and defamation lawsuit against the ex-president.

Trump denies all allegations of sexual assault and has never been criminally prosecuted over any such claims.

Leeds told Manhattan's federal court that Trump put his hand up her skirt in the business class section of a flight to New York in 1978 or 1979.

"There was no conversation. It was like out of the blue," said Leeds, now 81.

"He was trying to kiss me, grabbing my breasts," she added.

Leeds first made the allegation in an interview with the New York Times weeks before the 2016 election that sent Trump to the White House.

Some dozen women came forward accusing Trump of sexual misconduct in the run-up to the vote.

Leeds went public with the accusation after Trump refuted sexual assault allegations during a presidential debate with Hillary Clinton.

"I was furious because he was lying," Leeds recalled.

Leeds was called to testify by Carroll's lawyers to try to persuade the nine-person jury that Trump has engaged in a pattern of sexual misconduct.

Carroll, 79, has sued Trump alleging he sexually assaulted her in a changing room at the luxury Bergdorf Goodman department store in Manhattan in the mid-1990s.

She also claims that Trump then defamed her when he called her "a complete con job" after she went public with the allegation in 2019.

Trump has repeatedly and strenuously denied the allegations.

Carroll filed her lawsuit late last year after a law took effect in New York that gave victims of sexual assault a one-year window to sue their alleged abusers decades after attacks may have occurred.

The suit seeks unspecified damages and asks that Trump retract his comments.

No criminal prosecution can stem from Carroll's civil case but if Trump loses it will be the first time he has ever been held legally liable for an allegation of sexual assault.

The case is one of several legal challenges facing Trump as the 76-year-old Republican seeks a return to the White House in next year's election.

Last month he pleaded not guilty in a criminal case related to a hush-money payment made to a porn star just before the 2016 vote.

Trump is also being investigated over his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss in the southern state of Georgia, his alleged mishandling of classified documents taken from the White House and his involvement in the storming of the US Capitol by his supporters on January 6, 2021.

"Anurag Thakur Tried To Suppress Matter": Vinesh Phogat Amid Protest

India's ace wrestler Vinesh Phogat who has been protesting at Jantar Mantar with other top grapplers against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, on Tuesday said that it is tough to stand against a powerful person who is misusing his power and position for a very long time.

The wrestlers are continuously protesting against sexual harassment charges against the WFI chief; they are demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan.

Addressing the media, Olympian Vinesh said, "It is very difficult to stand against a person who is misusing his power and position for so long."

She further revealed that the wrestlers had met an official before they started their protest in Jantar Mantar, for the first time. But, no action was taken.

"Three-Four months before we sat at Jantar Mantar, we had met an official, we had told him everything that how women athletes are sexually harassed and mentally tortured when no action was taken, then we sat on Dharna," Vinesh added.

Vinesh also slammed Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur for not taking any action and suppressing the matter by forming a committee.

"We ended our protest after talking to Union Sports Minister (Anurag Thakur), and all the athletes had told him about the sexual harassment. He by forming a committee tried to suppress the matter there; no action was taken that time," She said.

Bajrang Punia addressed the allegations that they are protesting against new rules introduced for the Olympics.

He said, "He (Brij Bhusan) is saying that we have made some rules for the Olympics and therefore these athletes are protesting; firstly, this is not about the Olympics, this is against sexual harassment. And if I talk about the Olympic rule; the federation will take trails of athletes coming from the Olympics, whoever they want."

Earlier on Saturday, the WFI chief asserted that if he resigns from his post it would mean that he has accepted the allegations which have been raised by the wrestlers.

Reacting to World Wrestling Federation Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's remark she said that all they wanted was justice.

The Delhi Police on Friday registered two FIRs against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation of female wrestlers by him. He also said that 90 per cent of Haryana players stand with him while only one wrestling family continues to protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

Earlier on April 26, Wrestlers held a candle march at Jantar Mantar urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to their 'Mann Ki Baat'.

While talking to the media, Sakshee said, "We urge PM Modi to listen to our Mann Ki Baat. Even Smriti Irani ji is not listening to us. We are trying to show them the light through this candle march," said Sakshee to the media.

Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Bajrang Punia and star wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik on Friday said that they will continue their protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh until he is sent behind bars.

Top Indian grapplers such as Vinesh Phogat, Sakshee Malikkh, Bajrang Punia, and many others wrestlers are involved in the protest against the WFI chief. Over the last six days, the wrestlers have slept and trained at the protest site near Jantar Mantar in the national capital.

Man Arrested Outside Buckingham Palace For Throwing Suspected Shotgun Cartridges

Police in London arrested a man on Tuesday after items thought to be shotgun cartridges were thrown into the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

The arrest, at about 7:00 pm (1800 GMT), comes just days before King Charles III's coronation, which will be attended by global royalty and world leaders.

The Metropolitan Police said the man threw several items into the palace after approaching the gates.

He was arrested was detained on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. A controlled explosion was later carried out on a suspicious bag as a precaution.

Met Police chief superintendent Joseph McDonald said in a statement: "Officers worked immediately to detain the man and he has been taken into police custody.

"There have been no reports of any shots fired, or any injuries to officers or members of the public.

"Officers remain at the scene and further inquiries are ongoing."

British media reported that neither Charles, 74, or his wife Queen Consort Camilla, 75, were at the palace at the time.

Buckingham Palace officials declined to comment.

The Mall, leading to Buckingham Palace, has been closed off to traffic in preparation for Saturday's coronation, which is the first to take place in Britain for 70 years.

Thousands of ceremonial troops will take part in a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey as part of the coronation, with huge crowds expected.

The security operation to protect the route to and from the abbey -- dubbed Operation Golden Orb -- is one of the biggest in recent years.

It will include rooftop snipers and undercover officers, as well as airport-style scanners, sniffer dogs and a no-fly zone over central London.

Doctor Shares Emotional Post About A Patient Who Touched His Heart

A heart-wrenching post by a doctor is going viral on the internet. Dr Abby Philips aka TheLiverDoc (@theliverdr) took to Twitter to share a heartfelt post about treating a patient with alcohol use disorder. In a long post, the doctor talked about the effects of alcoholism on a family and a doctor's life.

"The 4th Laddu. These 3 laddus were given to me by the wife of my patient on his birthday, a few weeks before. She was now happy and the family was doing good for themselves," Dr Philips wrote.

The doctor posted a photograph of three laddus and shared that he received them from a patient's wife on his birthday. The patient named Paul was suffering from alcohol use disorder and had been drinking for more than 15 years. A few months ago, Paul was diagnosed with alcohol-related hepatitis, and he was advised for a liver transplant.

Unfortunately, Paul's family could not afford hospital admission and the surgery cost. Paul owned a small provisions and bakery shop, had two daughters, aged 5 and 9 and his wife worked part-time errands, but quit after the girls were born.

The doctor regularly prescribed medicines, made suggestions to reduce symptoms and comforted the family over the phone, while Paul was treated at home. However, Paul died at home on the 18th day.

See the post here:

After three months, his wife visited the doctor on his birthday and gave him sweets. "Three Laddus. One from her and two from the daughters. Because I never stigmatized her or Paul. I did not make her look like a failure. I never blamed her or Paul for his disease. I never shouted at Paul for his behaviour. They were free now. The girls went to school and the wife was now running the shop well," he added.

The doctor wrote, "But all I could think about, was that fourth Laddu. The one I never received from Paul, because he died. A woman lost her husband, two bright young children lost their father. All three lives are broken and a void that can never be filled." He also mentioned that he has "post-traumatic stress disorder from seeing families get shattered into a million little pieces due to alcohol."

The doctor's emotional post about Paul and his family touched many hearts online, it also put the spotlight on the destructive power of addiction. Social media users requested the doctor to put this story in other languages so that it could reach more people.

"This is so heartwarming. Thanks for sharing. Alcoholism is a global scourge. Your writings should reach globally. Will see if such posts of yours can be translated to Arabic. I live in Dubai," read a tweet.

"If possible put this out in Hindi. A lot of people need to read it. Most of them won't understand English are the very ones who should be reading this," another user wrote.

"Wonderfully narrated. I feel your pain. It's not easy to write like this without heartfelt compassion. Congratulations," the third user commented.

"You are a good man Doc. Keep ur spirits high and do good. We get very few like you around who are willing to raise their voices against the establishment," the fourth user wrote.

"BJP A House Divided In Rajasthan": Ashok Gehlot Responds To PM's JIbe

The campaign for the May 10 Karnataka election hitting the home stretch, the Congress has despatched one of its star campaigners -- Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot - to pitch for the party's model of good governance down south.

Mr Gehlot was in Bengaluru and Mangalore on Monday, in an outreach to the Rajasthani migrant population.

There are about 4 lakh Rajasthani migrants in Karnataka, of whom about 1.5 lakh vote. They comprise about 4 per cent of the state's voting population.

For the Congress, every vote will count in case of a closely fought election.

As Chief Minister of one of the few Congress-ruled states, Mr Gehlot was expected to make a successful pitch to the Marwari trader community in Basvangudi and Gandhinagar, said Jawarilal Lunawat Jain, secretary of Pravasi Rajasthani Karnataka Sangh.

Mr Gehlot, though, is the only leader from Rajasthan in the spotlight in Karnataka. His political rival Sachin Pilot has been left out of the campaigners' list.

Rajasthan goes to polls later this year and Mr Pilot, who had helped re-build the party up from the grassroots ahead of the 2018 election, is working in the state.

The division of labour has not gone un-noticed. Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi - spearheading the BJP's campaign -- attacked the Rajasthan Congress twice in three days.

On the last occasion, he said that a vote for the Congress would mean a government marked by infighting.

As an example, he had cited Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Mr Gehlot, however, pointed out that in Rajasthan, the BJP too is a house divided and the party's "model of governance is to topple elected governments".

As example, he cited Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Manipur. But in Rajasthan, their efforts have failed, he pointed out. "They (the BJP) lost the money they invested in trying to topple the Congress government in Rajasthan," he added.

"Wherever the Congress government is formed, the Rajasthan model will be implemented to take care of all sections of the society," Mr Gehlot told his audience. "Social security should be a national plank. Rajasthan has done its bit, we have right to health the most comprehensive health insurance scheme," he added.

"Slowly Expanding Like Shaheen Bagh": Wrestling Body Chief On Protests

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Monday alleged that wrestlers' protest is "expanding like Shaheen Bagh" and the target of protest is not him but the BJP.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh asked why the protest at Jantar Mantra has not ended even though an FIR has been registered on demand of wrestlers and alleged that the protest is "paid".

"Tukde-tukde gang, the forces which were active in Shaheen Bagh, in the farmers' protest, those who attack PM Modi from time to time, attack the party, all those forces are visible," he said.

"I have been saying right from the beginning that my resignation is not their target, that is their excuse, their target is the party (BJP). When on their demand an FIR has been filed...the way they are inviting political parties, ...Priyanka Gandhi reached, her husband reached, Malik sahab (Satyapal Malik) reached, Kejriwal reached, the way people are coming together, abusive language is being used against the Prime Minister...is this an agitation of players? it is not," he told ANI.

Shaheen Bagh in Delhi came to the limelight during the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act protests in 2019. The protesters blocked the road against the citizenship law for a few months forcing long traffic diversions.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, BJP MP from Kaiserganj in Uttar Pradesh, asked if normal players can hire expensive lawyers for cases.

"There are industrialists behind it, these industrialists want to hurt me in every way, they are pouring money... I feel when industrialists can spend hundreds of crores against me.. there is a threat to my life, they have decided to be after Brij Bhushan Singh," he said.

"The demand was that there should be FIR. It has been registered but their agitation is not coming to an end. Does the agitation not cost money. Slowly it is expanding like Shaheen Bagh. Slowly they want to divide UP, Haryana," he added.

The MP said the majority of wrestlers were from two caste groups in Uttar Pradesh and one in Haryana.

"I want that these players to be asked by people from these two states why they are not letting nationals happen? I did cadet nationals, they protested against it. The nationals for the juniors, under 15 and under 23 should have been done by now. There are parents making sacrifices for the players. The wrestlers protesting are practising at Jantar Mantar. They are all big names, they can get permissions for trials as well. But what about the children whose parents are making sacrifices but are not getting to play because the activities of the federation are stopped for four months," Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh told ANI.

The Delhi Police on Friday registered two FIRs against WFI president Singh over allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation of female wrestlers.

Top Indian grapplers such as Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, are part of the protest against the WFI chief.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said Delhi Police is probing the allegations and the result of probe should be awaited.

The MP said he had given the oversight committee a purported audio allegedly of a player involved in the protest.

"What resignation should I give," he said, adding that there was a conspiracy against him.

He said he was not aware of some of the allegations and did not know who had made them.

After a protest led by some prominent wrestlers of the country in January this year, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports had announced the formation of an 'oversight committee' to probe allegations levelled against the WFI and its chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and other coaches.

The committee was tasked with submitting a report on the issue to the ministry. The wrestlers launched a fresh protest in April.

After Reports Claim Asia Cup May Be Postponed, A New Update Says This

Contradicting media reports that Asia Cup could be postponed and a parallel tournament, excluding Pakistan, could be played in Dubai in the same window, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) sources on Monday said that they have not sent out any such proposal to the member nations. A report in Pakistan media claimed that if PCB will not agree to play Asia Cup at a neutral venue, the tournament could be taken away from the country.

The hosting rights of the 2023 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in ODI format, are with the Pakistan Cricket Board but BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the ACC chairman, has made it clear that the Indian cricket team will not travel to Pakistan.

The PCB has proposed to host Asia Cup on a 'hybrid model', where Pakistan play their matches on the home soil, while India play at a neutral venue -- in all likelihood Dubai.

It is understood that the BCCI wants the entire tournament to be shifted to the UAE -- which has three grounds in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi -- much like the 2018 and 2022 editions when India and Sri Lanka were the tournament hosts.

"There has been exchange of messages but no discussion or proposal to postpone the Asia Cup has been floated," an ACC Board member, privy to discussions on the sidelines of an ICC meet in Dubai, told PTI on the conditions of anonymity.

"Secondly, if the Asia Cup is cancelled, PCB will be intimated first. Nothing of that sort has happened till now. The ACC chairman (Shah) hasn't yet put anything on record.

"To postpone or cancel the event, the ACC will have to call an Executive Board meeting. The chairman (Shah) can call the meeting in seven days (virtual or physical). To date, there is no intimation about any such meeting," the source added.

The ACC source said that, to the best of his knowledge, the last official mail exchange between the PCB, ACC and BCCI was an invitation sent to the Indian team with assurance of highest degree of security and best hospitality.

"But, obviously, it is difficult for India to travel to Pakistan in the current sensitive political environment," he agreed.

The other issue is amount of money the official broadcaster has committed on telecast deals, that includes at least two assured India-Pakistan games. If the two teams make the final, the third game would be a bonanza.

"We must remember the media rights and the agreement with Star Sports, who have paid millions for, at least, two Pakistan vs India matches in the Asia Cup," he said.

It is learnt that when the informal discussion was held between the ACC members about hosting the tournament at neutral venue, the source confirmed that BCCI did get support from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

"Look, if Asia Cup is cancelled after the ACC chairman summons an Executive Board meeting, the ramifications will not just be Pakistan's World Cup participation but also PCB's FTP calendar and bilateral relations with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan or Bangladesh. "The situation is still very fluid," the source said.

Camilla To Wear Queen Elizabeth's Coronation Robe For Ceremony. See Pics

King Charles III's wife Camilla will wear the coronation robes made for Queen Elizabeth II when she is crowned Queen Consort on May 6. On Saturday, Buckingham Palace released new photos of the coronation robes that King Charles and Camilla will wear for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Following the tradition, King Charles and Camilla will wear two different robes each - the Robes of State and the Robes of Estate. According to The Independent, while Robes of State will be worn on arrival at Westminster Abbey, the Robes of Estate will be worn as the duo leave at the end of the service.

"A first glimpse before Coronation day," the official account of the Royal Family wrote on Instagram while sharing a series of images of the robes.

Take a look below:

The pictures show the Royal School of Needlework's embroidery team conserving The King's Robe of State, which will be worn by King Charles upon his arrival at Westminster Abbey, and Camilla's Robe of Estate, which will be worn after she is crowned.

According to The Independent, the King will wear his grandfather George VI's Robes of State and Estate from the 1937 coronation, which are nearly 90 years old and have been conserved and prepared for the occasion. Camilla, on the other hand, will wear the late Queen's crimson Robe of State which was made for Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, and has been conserved with adjustments. It features a train of 5.5 metres.

One brand new Robe of Estate has also been made for the Queen Consort to wear at the ceremony. The new robe has been designed in purple velvet to match the King's. It has been hand embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

The robe pays tribute to the King by incorporating delphiniums - one of his favourite flowers which is also Camilla's birth month flower - and in memory of Elizabeth II includes the late Queen's favourite bloom, lily of the valley. It also features national emblems - the rose, thistle and shamrock.
