Russia Security Council Leader Condemns Drone Attack On Kremlin

After the drone attack on the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, by Ukraine, Moscow is left with no option other than the physical elimination of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "and his clique," deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev said on his Telegram channel, according to TASS News Agency.

On his Telegram channel, Medvedev said, "After today's terrorist attack, there are no options left other than the physical elimination of Zelensky and his clique."

According to Medvedev, Zelenskyy "is not even needed for signing an instrument of unconditional surrender."

"Hitler, as is known, did not sign it either. There will always be some substitute," Medvedev wrote, reported TASS News Agency.

Earlier, Russia alleged that there were attempts by Ukraine to assassinate President Putin, saying it was a "terrorist attack" while claiming it shot down drones over the residence of Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not get injured in the overnight drone attacks on Kremlin and Russia considers the drone attacks, an attempt on President's life, President's press service announced on Wednesday, Russia Today reported.

According to Putin's staff, Ukraine launched two drone attacks overnight with the intention of hitting his apartment in the Kremlin.

"The head of State was not in Kremlin at the time of "Ukrainian UAV attack" on Tuesday night, "Kremlin's Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

He also said that President Putin is currently working from his residence near Moscow and that his schedule remains unchanged.

The drones were destroyed using electronic warfare measures and caused no casualties or damage, the press service added.

According to a report in Russia Today, the message said, "As a result of this terrorist act, the President of the Russian Federation was not injured. His work schedule has not changed, it continues as usual."

The Kremlin also noted that the Russian side reserves the right to take retaliatory measures as it sees fit, reported Russia Today.

Peskov added that the incident won't interfere with the Victory Day parade that is scheduled to take place on May 9 on Red Square.

The Kremlin previously reported that the two UAVs had targeted the Kremlin, but both were shot down before they could pose any damage, according to Russia Today.

Prior to being shot down, both of the UAVs that had targeted the Kremlin, according to the Kremlin, were shot down.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied that his country was responsible for what Russia says was an assassination attempt against Russian President Vladimir Putin, after an apparent drone attack on the Kremlin.

"We don't attack Putin or Moscow," Zelenskyy said during a news conference in Helsinki.

The Ukrainian president said that Ukraine didn't have enough weapons to spare in incidents like this, reported CNN.

"We fight on our territory, we are defending our villages and cities. We don't have enough weapon[s] for this. That's why we don't use it anywhere [else]," Zelensky explained. "For us that is the deficit, we can't spend [waste] it."

"Respected Sharad Pawar, You're Needed As NCP Chief": Union Minister

A day after NCP chief Sharad Pawar announced that he would step down as party head, Union minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane Wednesday said the 82-year-old leader's presence was needed in politics as well as his party's president.

Sharad Pawar on Tuesday dropped a bombshell by saying he is stepping down as chief of the NCP which he founded and helmed since 1999, but not retiring from public life. His nephew Ajit Pawar later announced his uncle will need two to three days to "think over" his decision.

About Ajit Pawar appearing to be the only NCP leader favouring his uncle's decision, Narayan Rane said, "Ajit was making big speeches. He found Pawar's decision correct while the party workers hold a contrarian view." "Respected Sharad Pawar, you are needed in politics as well as president of NCP," said Narayan Rane, a former Shiv Sena leader.

He also took a dig at former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of being incapable of taking his party along.

"He (Uddhav Thackeray) is incapable as a leader and this is a fact. Still, Sharad Pawar made him chief minister. Pawar has admitted about his (Thackeray's) shortcomings as chief minister," Narayan Rane told reporters when asked about remarks made by Pawar in his autobiography 'Lok Majhe Sangati' (People Accompany Me).

Narayan Rane had quit the Shiv Sena in 2005 to join the Congress. He left the Congress in 2017 to form his own outfit 'Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha', which he merged with the BJP in October 2019.

King Charles III's Coronation: Schedule And How Can You Watch It Live

King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in a ceremony full of pomp, pageantry, and solemn religious significance on Saturday, May 6, after he became monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other realms on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, in September.

For the best part of a thousand years, the kings and queens of England and Britain have been crowned at London's Westminster Abbey in a ceremony that has changed little throughout the centuries.

There have been 38 monarchs crowned at the Abbey. Edward V, one of two young princes believed to have been murdered in the Tower of London in the 15th century, and Edward VIII, who abdicated to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson, were not crowned.

So, what time is the coronation ceremony, and how can you watch it from home?

All you need to know is this:

Timings

The coronation ceremony will begin at 1000 GMT, following a procession from Buckingham Palace. It is set to be shorter than that for his mother 70 years ago, at about two hours long compared to almost four hours.

A much larger procession will depart the Abbey, made up of armed forces from Britain and across the Commonwealth. The king and queen will travel in the gold state coach, which was commissioned in 1760.

Coronation Day schedule, May 6:

3 p.m. IST: King Charles and Queen Camilla will step out of Buckingham Palace for a procession (a little over 1 mile) to head to Westminster Abbey.

3.30 p.m. IST: Coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey (church) by the Archbishop in front of the royals and guests

4.30 p.m. IST: The King and Queen will travel back to the Palace through a slow procession, meeting crowds.

6.45 p.m.: The Royals and the King do their usual Royal family balcony wave at the palace and watch the flypast.

How to watch King Charles' coronation:

Several international TV channels, including the BBC, ABC News, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC, will telecast this event on their different broadcasting platforms.

The Royal Family YouTube Channel is also supposed to live stream the ceremony.

"Will declare you a terrorist in a second" - this boast by a Bihar policeman to a teacher was caught on video. The clip, a chilling display of abuse of power and high handedness, is being widely shared on the internet.

"Active Shooter" Situation In Atlanta Building, 1 Dead, 3 Injured

A gunman opened fire inside a medical building in the US city of Atlanta leaving one dead and three injured, the Atlanta Police Department said in a series of tweets. The suspect, who was seen with a gun in his hand in CCTV footage, has been identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson by the police.

Warning residents about an active shooter situation inside a building, the Atlanta Police Department said, "APD is investigating an active shooter in the area of 1110 W Peachtree St NW. Please shelter in place, or stay out of the area ... the suspect is still at large."

Police posted four photographs of the suspect on Twitter. The man is seen walking into an office doorway and raising his arm to point what appeared to be a handgun. The image does not show what he might have been targeting.

Police have said that no additional shots have been fired since the initial incident unfolded inside the medical building. "We are currently aware of 4 shooting victims related to this situation." Three people have been hospitalised, while a fourth has been declared dead as police actively search for the gunman and any other victims.

Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have also responded to assist with the shooting.

Northside Hospital said in a tweet that they are cooperating with the authorities.

"Northside Hospital is cooperating with law enforcement following the shooting at our midtown #Atlanta location earlier this afternoon. We urge people in the area to shelter in place and follow instructions from law enforcement on the scene. This tragedy is affecting all of us, and we ask for patience and prayers at this time," the hospital said.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said in a tweet that he was in contact with police and advised people to in the area to shelter in place. "I am in close contact with the Atlanta Police Department as they are responding to the active shooting situation in Midtown near 1100 W Peachtree. Those in the area should shelter in place," he said.

The police have asked people with any information to approach them. In the photographs, the suspect appears to be a well-built man wearing dark pants, a hood over his head and a white surgical mask, wielding a handgun.

"Based on our preliminary investigation, these are photos believed to be of the active shooter. Anyone with any information on this person's whereabouts is asked to call 911. The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached," Atlanta Police said.

About an hour after the gunfire, a SWAT team gathered near the High Art Museum, about 3/4 of a mile (1.21 km) from the shooting scene, according to a video posted on Twitter by a local CBS affiliate.

Atlanta Public Schools said several schools in the area would operate on external lockdown for the rest of the day "out of an abundance of caution", Reuters reported.

There have been more than 180 mass shootings -- defined as four or more people wounded or killed -- so far this year in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive. With more firearms than inhabitants, the United States has the highest rate of gun-related deaths of any developed country: 49,000 in 2021, up from 45,000 the year before.

Zerodha CEO Shares How A Friend Got "Scammed And Lost Rs 5 Lakh"

Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath on Wednesday took to Twitter to narrate how his friend lost Rs 5 lakh after falling for a part-time job offer he received on WhatsApp. Mr Kamath shared that the offer promised big bucks for doing an easy task.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, Mr Kamath shared, "Someone I know got scammed and lost money. It started with a response to a part-time job offer on WhatsApp. The first few tasks were about leaving fake reviews for resorts and restaurants in random places like Peru. About Rs 30,000 was transferred to the bank for the tasks completed."

See the tweet here:

In a follow-up tweet, Mr Kamath added, "A Telegram group was created with others who claimed to do these tasks. The next task for the group was to trade on a mock crypto platform, following a bunch of rules. Profits generated were allowed to be withdrawn, even without transferring any real money."

He revealed that this wasn't Bitcoin or Ethereum, but random crypto tokens whose prices fraudsters could easily manipulate. He shared that the group was then asked to transfer real money to generate higher returns. Others in the group claiming to transfer nudged my friend to do so as well.

"I guess the risk didn't seem much since the money transferred was the Rs 30,000 earned through the platform. But greed took over, and more money was transferred, probably due to peer pressure from others in the group who claimed to have made large transfers and profits," he revealed.

Mr Kamath's friend tried to withdraw but couldn't and was told that a certain number of traders was required. "The fear of being unable to withdraw the money took over, and more money was added to trade. This amounted to Rs 5 lakh, a large amount for any person," he wrote.

"The platform offered a loan when the person said there was no more money to add. The person finally decided to confide with the spouse about the situation, who almost immediately realized it was a fraud. They reached out to the police for help," Mr Kamath revealed.

"The account seemed like a real crypto account, with account balance, ledger, P&L, etc. But it was all fake; everything on it was manipulated, including the telegram group. The crypto price movements were also manipulated to generate profits and sow greed at the start," the Zerodha CEO said.

Mr Kamath concluded by saying that "there is no easy way to earn a lot of money quickly".

He also emphasizes that people should spread awareness. "Everyone is a target, and we need to create awareness. The important thing to remember is that there is no easy way to make a lot of money quickly," Mr Kamath said.

"Wake Up": YS Sharmila Sends Truckload Of Damaged Crops To KCR

YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila sent a truck loaded with damaged crops to Chief Minsiter KCR to draw his attention towards crop damage in several districts of Telangana.

The recent rains rendered farmers with unprecedented losses and inflicted a major blow to their hopes of a good harvest.

Exhibiting the truck to the media, the YSR Telangana Party chief said, "Today, YSR Telangana Party is sending this load of the damaged crop to KCR so that, at least during the election year, he will wake up from deep sleep and extend appropriate compensation to farmers. The crop loss due to unseasonal rains has been put at around 10 lakh acres, but not even a single official or MLA has visited the farmers and inspected the loss. While they are all busy clicking photographs in the newly built Secretariat that cost Rs 1,600 crores, it is a shame that the farmers had to raise loans at high interest and sell their spouses' jewellery for crops. This truck bears farmers' tears."

She further said that in the past nine years, the cumulative crop loss has been estimated to be more than Rs 14000 crores, but this reckless government has no concept of crop insurance.

"In the past nine years, the cumulative crop loss has been estimated to be more than Rs 14000 crores, but this reckless government has no concept of crop insurance. When there is no crop insurance, at least the government should extend compensation. KCR promises Rs 10000 per acre that is insignificant as the input costs rose unprecedentedly. His promise was to deliver the amount by the time he returned home. Has he not returned home yet," said YS Sharmila.

"We demand that KCR offer at least Rs 30,000 per acre as compensation. The paddy procurement should begin immediately. The assurance to set up 7500 IKP centres also failed and less than 2500 were set up. We demand that the centres be established on an emergency basis," she added.

On the occasion, Ms Sharmila hit out at KCR and his 'raithu bharosa and ab ki baar kisan sarkar catchwords'.

"Is this the bharosa and is this the kisan sarkar? A sarkar that doesn't give crop insurance, doesn't extend input subsidies, and fails on every front when it comes to the rescue of farmers?" she said.
